HERBERT
Sybil Burden writes, "Hannah Herbert of Harlestone,Northamptonshire,
was born at Harlestone, married WmHill and lived with their eight boys
at Stoke Goldington. About 1855, they immigrated to NSW, Australia
thenominator being one, Uncle Wm Simons, of Goulburn Plains.
Hannah's mother was a Miss Simons (maybe Elizabeth or Mary Simons.
What happened to Mr and Mrs Herbert is not known at present.
William Simons with his brother, Richard Simons, wereinvolved
in hefty stealing and convicted from Northamptonshire Assizes Court.
Both traveled on 'Surrey',with Richard being sent on to Tasmania,
and Wm takenas a hand at Sydney, and thento work on Dr Tounson's farm at
Goulburn.
He became a successful business man, andlived till he was about
55 years, leaving a wife, formerly Ann Clarkson andseveral children of various
ages.
